Road Trip Across America – Part the ninth

Minneapolis, MN

Miles Driven: ~14

Car update: my check engine light came back on yesterday, 60 miles outside of Minneapolis. Dana and I made an adventure to Pep Boys this morning to see what I did this time. It was the gas cap again. I didn’t tighten it enough at some point. Apparently, you are supposed to turn it so it clicks at least three times. I’ve been clicking it once or twice. Ooops.

Car issue aside, today was a very restful day. We spent the morning hanging out and reading and talking, visited the car place, and then had lunch at Common Roots Cafe. It was really good. Then we walked around Minneapolis for a bit, including over to the Walker Sculpture Garden – home of the iconic “Cherry and Spoonbridge”.

It was iconic looking. I want one.

The other works in the sculpture garden were pretty cool. I especially liked the 40-something sets of wind chimes in the trees. There was just enough of a breeze to make them all ring.

The breeze was necessary, because it was hot and humid – although the cloud cover mitigated the heat a bit. The flower garden is also quite pretty this time of year.

Flowers.

Just to make it seem like the old days, we are watching one of our old standards, Robin Hood: Men in Tights. I can’t believe our parents let us watch this as kids…
