June Gloom

“June Gloom” is an annual phenomenon in Saint Babs.  Guess when it happens?  The beach is usually a colorful way to spend an evening – yellow sand, blue sky, green palm trees, etc. – not last night, though.  I was at the beach to watch my friend Jen in the Reef and Run and took a few photos.  I was amazed at how bleak the scene was.

The only color I could see were the swim caps everyone was wearing.

Start of the race.

All of these pictures are in color – the was just so little color to be seen.

Here’s Jen (yellow cap) getting out of the ocean:

And palm trees have never looked more ominous:

  1. Genevieve, thanks for the pictures! Even if they are ominous (especially that last one.) See you tomorrow…. 🙂

  2. Those photos are haunting! If they weren’t so depressing (haven’t seen the sunshine for more than 5 minutes in DAYS!) I’d want to frame them with my currently empty 8×10 frames. BTW, saw Trey and Justin sunning themselves during the hour of sunshine today on the anthill; I wanted to join them to take a nap 🙂
