First hot day of the summer

And it happened in fall. I guess I can’t expect seasons in Southern California, but it hit 100 today. We have had an awful, cold, gloomy summer, and then it hits 100 as soon as the rest of the country is getting ready to go apple picking. This place is weird.

When my friend was back east for vacation, she was watching the weather report. There was a heat wave across the entire country, except, as the weatherman noted, in Santa Barbara. We’re making up for it now.

There is no humidity. This is my first real experience with “dry heat”. More pleasant than the alternative, but still a little too warm.
